Investigation of the synergistic effect of platelet-rich plasma and polychromatic light on human dermal fibroblasts seeded chitosan/gelatin scaffolds for wound healing

Investigation of the synergistic effect of platelet-rich plasma and polychromatic light on human dermal fibroblasts seeded chitosan/gelatin scaffolds for wound healing

Highlights

  • Biochemical/biophysical stimulant-based 3D scaffold was developed for the treatment of chronic wounds.
  • Fibroblasts on the scaffold were stimulated chemically with platelet rich plasma and physically by polychromatic light.
  • The dual effect of light on platelets activation and stimulation of fibroblasts was demonstrated.
  • The 3D cell migration model showed that cell migration increased in the presence of PRP and light.
